Windows don't rise when hood raised or lowered

I thought that I saw a link somewhere to this issue but cannot find it now. Could someone please advise me on what could be causing the following problem.

- When I lower the hood the windows drop down a bit to allow this to happen but do not rise up again even though I keep my finger on the hood down button.
- When I raise the hood the windows drop down a bit to allow this to happen and the hood rises and attaches smoothly to the windscreen surround but again the windows do not rise back up again even though I keep my finger on the raise hood button.

The LED indicators by the side of the lower and raise buttons are not lit when I complete the operations, so it looks as if the car thinks that I've held the buttons down long enough, which I'm sure I have.

Is there a sensor that I need to check or something?

Thanks for any advice.

Don't know, but may be connected with one-touch functionality?

Do you have one-touch option activated?
If so, do your windows close fully in one-touch mode? If not then maybe they need to re-learn their jobs. Open the windows individually and keep holding the switch down for five seconds; repeat for closing the windows. Something like that anyway... It's worked for me before...

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, one touch is working fine on the driver's side window, not on the passenger's side window, which I believe is standard for the age of my car as it was built October 2003.

Just to let anyone know who comes across this post, the window reset sequence described here - https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=104644 by [ref]Ewazix[/ref] worked a treat!

An old post but I'm glad the window re-set info worked for you

Sit in car with key at pos 1 with window power available and doors shut,
Lower the window fully and keep the button down for 5 seconds, immediately raise to the top, release the button and open the door.
Then repeat with the other window.
The windows should now drop slightly when opening the door and rise fully after shutting
