Window wiper squeak

A trivial problem because I usually don’t drive my Zed in the rain, but if I have to use them there is a tiny squeak from the mechanism just before it stops at the bottom. It’s not the wipers. Before I go tearing in about it with gt85, any idea what I need to lube or replace?

It's the wiper spindle/linkage. I had this on mine, in my case it was the driver side. When I had mine apart a bit of lube sorted it.

Thanks for the replies. Annoying, isn’t it? It’s the kind of problem you keep meaning to fix, but keep forgetting about.

Thanks OP - I've got exactly the same thing; been meaning to look into it for ages.
My drivers side wiper stopped working today. The ball joint must be worn. Got brackets coming from eBay to fix it.

I have the same squeak. Can't be arsed fixing it in the rain, forget to fix it in the dry...

I had this..it was the "hinge" bit on the arm itself that was squeaking..a bit of 3 in 1 and it all went quiet

Update on the squeak.
Took off the wipers and cowel and lubed all moving parts I could see. Switched them on, no squeak. Put it all back together, put them on, the squeak is back. It turns out it was the spring in the back of the wiper that keeps it on the windscreen. :x The wiper arm must move a wee bit as it moves over the windscreen, a squirt with wd40, sorted.
Simple really. :headbang:
