Window stuck

Bit of a crunch last week, then ok, but today the same crunch and the driver window is about 4" from closed.

Is there any way to lube or manually close the window until I get the regulator etc replaced?

Any quick help appreciated.

Try pulling the window up manually..

Or you will have to remove the door card and push the window up and jam it in position..

Tried lifting it initially, but it's fixed in whichever position it's left in, higher or lower.

Will take the door card off tomorrow and am wondering what I'll find, such as will it be possible to lift up fully from the inside or is it fixed to the mechanism, hence it won't move.

Had similar recently - window stopped working with grinding noise and I managed to manually pull it closed. Initially it couldn't be moved, but a couple of clicks on the window switch until it loosened up and I managed to get it moving. It didn't need propping up and didn't move whilst I sourced a new actuator.

My root cause was also the window actuator, had mine replaced. Part was £140 from main dealer and was on back order. Fitting can be a right PITA (indy would charge you 2 - 3 hours labour to fit).

I have heard of kits of eBay for around £50, but have never used them (others on here have) so cannot vouch for them.

I'd steer clear of the repair kits. I got my regulator from eurocarparts and it was oem. Got it when they had a 25% sale on parts so was about£115. Took me about 3 hours to replace but was taking my time.

It's not easy, but not that difficult at the same time. Just needs someone with some patience and logic.

Update:

Opened up the door card and someone has been there before me (I've had it 15 months now) - all sorts of duck tape trying to keep the insulating foam together after it was pulled apart unceremoniously it seems.

Tried to spray the runners and tap the motor/unit, but no change with the same clunk and block 3/4 up. Eventually managed to get it fully closed by pulling on the cables and using the motor to jolt up and down (reconnected motor, did not touch the air-bag at all, no warning lights).

The window is at least now closed until I get it to Emtech in Salisbury in the New Year for a thorough job.
