Hi All
My Zed has always suffered from wind noise on the drivers side window, as soon as it exceeds 35mph or so the noise begins right by my ear and it was irritating to say the least, so i learnt to live with it by just lowering the window alittle.
I have tried the various suggestions from searching on this site including resetting the windows and adjusting the screw at the bottom of the doors, but to no avail, then i found a hood specialist in my area (Northwest) Car Hoods Northern Ltd and thought I might as well give them a try. The owner Vic was a delight to talk to, simple and straight to the point with minimum jargon, and booked me in the following week.
So the day came, and i left the car with him around lunchtime. TBH I was half expecting maybe a 'They're all like that...' or 'It's the age of the car, wear n tear etc...' but then I got a call from him around 2 hours later to confirm it was sorted and ready to collect!
All it was, it seemed, was the previous owner was perhaps not so mobile, and each time he got in and out of the car he needed to grab hold of the side of the hood just above the window, and as a result the trim had been torn out of line so the window could not sit with the lining snug at the top and hence allowing wind noise to protrude. Vic assured me that after the job, he had the car out on a test run just to make sure he was happy with it.
So driving home afterwards was an absolute delight. The only noise i could hear was what i wanted to hear: the stereo and the engine note.
Happy to recommend this place to anyone with any niggling issues hood-wise and I'm glad thats another problem ticked off the list!
