Wind deflector

I'm now a month in to my ownership and have made my first mod. The car came with an aftermarket perspex wind deflector that velcros to the roll bar hoops which I have changed for an OEM mesh one that fits between the 2 roll bar hoops. £180 from eBay plus I opted to change the rear part of the roll bar hoop covers at £45 for the pair instead of attempting to drill the existing ones in the right place!
It was a piece of cake to fit I am extremely pleased with results and not only does it look better, it no longer rattles and is slightly more effective.
The biggest plus however I didn't expect which is the sound! I can here the exhaust note so much clearer now the perspex has gone so it's a win win

Hopefully if the new ones turn up, the run flats will be going next week...

I find the roofdown cabin in the E89 a far more civilised experience than E85 when compared with both having deflector fitted
So did the £180 include all the necessary fittings ?

I'm so tempted by an e89, can't be arsed with selling mine though  I might have to hire mr Wilks to sell it for me, he seems to be good at that stuff :P
If somebody made me a decent offer I'd let it go & be scouring autotrader in seconds

I think the windows on the e89 help alot more too when the roof is down. With all the windows up there is alot more glass than on the e85. Helps reduce buffeting on the motorway, that's for sure.

The £180 covered the mesh deflector which was advertised as Genuine BMW and looks like it plus the 2 fixing brackets and a storage bag. That is all that is needed if you fancy altering the hoops but unless you had someone else's as a guide I can't see how you could drill them in the right place so for ease, it was worth £45 for these from my local dealership
