Wind Deflector

Made an idiotic choice and did not add comfort pack to spec (Have pro pack) I did not realise how bad the wind is as my previous car A3 SLine convertible was fine and I never used the wind deflector.

Anyway I have bought a centre wind deflector part 349481141 which is compatible but do not know how to fit it and zero guides on youtube.

Can anybody help? Is it true this just slides down between the roll hoops and connects to magnets at the bottom? Thats what my original manual says.

A video or diagram would be ace

Cheers

This should help https://g29.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1626825&highlight=Windschott

You will need some more parts, at a minimum the rollover hoop covers which have slots for the deflector.

That is strange because BMW Rochdale gave me a print out of what I needed and it was 1 centre piece, Left/Right Windschott, 8 black plate screws total £531.22.

Are we sure the G29 (22 plate) hasnt already got them fitted as standard? I have silver rollover hoops

It seems crazy that the covers do not have slots as standard, but it seems so

Having tried it without the wind deflector, it makes a big improvement in cabin comfort. You have bought the wind deflector, so may as well bite the bullet and buy the covers.

I know right? They designed and manufactured two of the same thing bonkers! I've ordered some anyway, hopefully I can get old ones off without breaking them

Exactly. What were BMW UK thinking when they decided to make the deflector optional? BMW USA had it as a standard component for all engine/trim levels.
