This seems to be the consensus. The mesh was designed to allow some wind through and prevent buffeting that you get with a solid deflector.Lazza said:Genuine mesh is the best. I tried a perspex one and it made it worse in the car rather than better!
It's also not just a flat panel. It looks like plastic surround has been designed to keep wind/turbulence out of the cabin.enzed4 said:The mesh was designed to allow some wind through and prevent buffeting that you get with a solid deflector.Lazza said:Genuine mesh is the best. 2011 Z4. Was a wind deflector supplied as standard with a new car or an option?
I think they learnt from the masters at Porsche :lol:Silverstar said:Loxford said:Hi,

BMW are just mean, on a car costing this much new and especially a convertible they should include things like the deflector parking sensors and folding door mirrors in the price they shouldn't be options! The price they want for new retrofit kit now is just ridiculous! Sorry rant over!
