Wind deflector brackets in boot keep falling out

I bought the brackets for the boot as they weren't fitted to the car when I bought it. Truth be told, the wind deflector stays between the roll bars 99% of the time, but I like having the accessories that go with the bits I have.
Anyway, I've found the brackets have a habit of falling out from time to time. I can't seem to mount them any more securely, without possibly gluing them in place, which I'd prefer not to.
Has anyone else had this happen? And if so, what the fix is? Maybe I haven't installed them correctly, but I can't see any other way, and when they are installed, the deflector sits in them just fine.
In the two years I've owned the Z4, I haven't come across anyone else mentioning this problem - is it just me? :(

Never had a problem with it fitted with the square inserts. Have even moved from one boot to another.

Expanding insert. Perhaps I could put a picture up, as Realoem doesn't show the actual inserts, just the bracket.
It's almost as if the inserts should go further into the holes to lock them in, but they seem to sit in the holes without any real grip, and vibration eventually shakes them loose.
Actually, a pic of them in situ will probably help show if I've mounted them incorrectly. I can't see how, as they seem pretty basic, but I'd be lying if I said I hadn't ballsed up what looked like a simple job before... :wink:

Ah that's probably it. It does look like they're not in all the way, but push as I might, I couldn't get them to 'pop' in to the holes fully. I was worried about damaging the plastic inserts.

Ah, ok - I'll switch to a little 'gentle' persuasion... :evil: :lol:

DONE! Thanks for the feedback guys. I used some right angle type grips and squeezed the inserts so they fit all the way into the square holes and clicked in flush with the boot lid. The brackets are now securely mounted in the boot and shouldn't fall out again.
