Williams - Manchester - Not exactly great.

After a good start... an ultimately disappointing result...

Williams Manchester, nice place, Wifi, free Coffee/Water/Cola, nice people (mostly), all well presented. Even the prices don't seem extortionate.

However, they have memory like a dog. 20 Minutes max. My Z4 had a rattle from the exhaust. It took "10" visits to resolve, one of which was where I left the car with them for a week while on holiday. When I returned, I still had the rattle.

So, I've just been to collect the car and really really hope that's the last I see of them in a long time. I gave them every chance, I really liked them, I really wanted to feel like I'd finally found somewhere good, and, well, I'll keep looking...

:o

Id want more than money off the next service - how can they claim to have done work they hadnt :? Was this warranty work or ?

worrying too that they gave it an MOT with a broken spring...

Williams Liverpool as as bad or worse. And although I've heard good reports of Williams Bolton, I'm sticking to the 200+ mile drive to my ///M specialist in Essex.

Yes yes yes and yes ;) Well it all depends on the money they offer off the service (this is only in recompense for the 2xscratch on the bumper)... either that or a cosmetic repair, which had better be perfect. All warranty work, and well what can I say, lost for words really.

Shocking, I try to avoid Williams (Liverpool ) and it sounds like Manchester is as bad. Best I've found is Halliwell Jones in Southport. It's a small dealership and therefore you tend to get better service/deal with the same person.

So after each visit were they charging for work done, which actually wasn't?

I'd have given up after the first visit :o

to add to the damning evidence for Williams Manc; took mine in for an oil service about 3 months after buying from them (so about 2 years ago now), and they told me the brake fluid needing flushing, as did the coolant because it hadn't been done at 3 years or 30,000mi (whenever it is meant to be done), They also said it needed new tyres, discs and pads all round.

Now, keep in mind that they had sold me the car 3 months previously, clearly knowing that the coolant and brakes wanted doing. It had a brand new tyre on the rear as I'd got a bloody great bolt through it not a week before and now, 2 years on, the discs and pads are still not worn enough to fail an MoT or even bring the amber light on!

Won't ever be taking my Zed to Williams again!

For warranty stuff, or stuff where it's mainly parts, I've been taking mine to David Holmes in Stockport.

Seem okay so far

now that sounds familiar to my experience with Berry Chiswick not two weeks ago...

They claimed I needed new discs and pads all round and claimed I had a puncture. Ive not needed either. Seems a standard ploy nowadays to try and extract more money from us :(

for parts williams manchester have been great with me, and good price wise as well, i cant comment on servicing etc though.
