Will not idle and wont start after stall

I have had my Z4 for about 6 months with 96k miles on it (2.5 engine).
the engine used to idle good and when it starts it sounds good.

I have always had the issue of it stalling when it wants too. It would stall when at idle or while driving...
Now it starts and sputters out and will not restart.
I have replaced the Crankshaft sensor and cleaned the ICV.

at a loss!!!!

Idle control valve stuck?

Might be worth dropping it out and cleaning it with some carb cleaner

Sorry, just noticed you said you’d done this

Thanks for the ideas. yes I did the MAF and it was the same. Also, took out the Idle control valve, cleaned it and it seems to move freely.
Not sure where to head next.

yes, I do have a code reader, no codes shown or pending. I will take advice, ridicule, sarcasm or insult if it leads me to a successful repair of this damn thing!!! LOL.

Fuel pump failing maybe?

You could test the pressure with a fuel gauge tester if you can find one with the right size schrader fitting

See if it will start using easy start sprayed into the intake, if it fires then it will be fuel supply related.

Stalls when driving and also stalls when at idle, then won't restart. 96 thou miles & at least 15 years old. Have already checked a number of things which might cause this. However, no codes.

Consider changing out your ignition switch, not costly to buy and easy to replace. Although, failing ignition switches can cause wild electrical issues they mainly cause stalling and difficult restarting. Basically, the issues you are having and since they are the correct location for on/off on the car, no codes.

Well I couldn't get the pressure gauge to read. But I disconnected the fuel line and pumped it into a bottle. A little bit comes out when the key is turned on. It doesn't everything. Just sometimes. It will pump for a second while cranking but then stope. I'm guessing it's fuel pump.

I couldn't get mine to read either because the pressure gauge seal wasn't great and it was spraying fuel everywhere
