Will car bump start without transponder

I'm I the middle of a quandary with the starter motor issue.

All I want to know is , will the key transponder failing prevent the car bump starting?

I can bump start and the engine runs as it should. No dash lights on, no power loss etc, just runs and drives as if I've started it by turning the key.

Would this be possible if the car didn't recognise the key?

If the ews wasn’t working it shouldn’t start?

So the engine wouldn't bump start and then continue running perfectly if the EWS was faulty/not paired?

I'm presuming from what I've read the EWS also controls the fuel pump and coil packs?

That's all I need to know to eliminate the transponder/receiver issue.
