Will 17" Style 276 Wheels fit a 35iS ?

I am looking to buy a set of smaller wheels before buying non run flat tyres for my 2015 E89 35iS but was wondering if the rear discs were too large (compared to other models) as there does not seem much of a gap between the caliper and the inside of the 19" rim.

Here are the specs and they are apparently compatible. Does reducing the rear rim width from 9J to 8J give more space for the caliper ?

Manufacturer and vehicle usage BMW Z4 E89
styling rims 276 star spoke
Part numbers of the rim 6782903
wheel size 8Jx17 ET29

Hopefully the photo shows gap with current 19" wheels.

Can't exactly answer your question, but why do you want to go down to 17s?
Would they not look a little too small on that car?
Also, if you were to reduce the rim width, you would potentially have to fit narrower tyres. I would suspect that with the power of that car, allied to the smaller contact area, you would wear through tyres quite quickly. Or at least give the traction control a bloody good workout. :?

Shouldn't have any issues with those.
Some 35i/35is left the factory with 17s on

Apologies, I stand corrected.

It's not a, good look though  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z4-SDRIVE35I-M-SPORT-ROADSTER-/184215244004
