Wifi OBD reader

Uh-oh. Driving this evening, when this happened.

Rather than taking it to a stealer, I've ordered one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009PIYPT0/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 in the hope that I can diagnose the issue/reset the warning light( ) with the correct app installed on my phone. I fear due to the mileage of my Zed (94k) that it may be time for a new cat (although she passed her last MOT with flying colours in Nov, so it can't have deteriorated that much in one winter, can it?).

As soon as the light came on, I remembered reading a topic on here about O2 sensors becoming clogged/dirty through lack of... appropriate driving, so I gave Zara a bit of a hoon, but to no avail.

I'll let you know how the OBD reader works, and how my wallet gets on...

Mine popped an engine warning light recently and turned out to be bank 1 and 2 too lean, plus ambient pressure implausible. Fault cleared and it hasn't come back. If it does I'll change the MAF sensor most likely.

That's the sort of thing I'm hoping for, although I'm prepared for the worst with a 3.0l cat already priced up, just need to find an indy near me that can give me a quote for the fitting (I lack the lift and mechanical skills for that sort of thing at the moment...)

On my previous car (a 3cyl 1.2, admittedly) the cat went at 90k. I used additive to get it through the MOT (scraped a pass), but then my conscience got the better of me, so I ended up replacing it before it was sold. The wifi OBD reader should arrive tomorrow at my local Amazon collect place, so I'll give it a try over the weekend. Hopefully the car will be good to go for sunday, as I have a 550 mile cross continent drive ahead of me!

I have problems these last few weeks, sensor faults showing up etc, these where changed to no avail until the main dealer inspected the car and found a fracture in the exhaust manifold....

Can be down to a change of fuel; I seem to get this sometimes when filling up with supermarket fuel. It's always the oxygen sensors arguing the toss about how well the cat is working, a quick clear of the fault and all is well as long as I use decent fuel.

Not to be sceptical, but I would get a second opinion from an independant garage before shelling out for a new manifold; the stealers got their name for good reason and they're more than ready to replace manifolds and O2 sensors as they're hurting at the moment and any excuse to get some money in...

Have to agree, a change in fuel brand seems to trigger these sensors.
