Wierd MOT Advisory Information

I had the MOT done on Wednesday on my 08 Z4MR (with a straight pass) at my local BMW dealer. Afterwards I looked at the document & noticed this.

001 Under-trays fitted obscuring some underside components

002 Engine covers fitted obscuring some components in the engine bay.

Errrrrrrr? Made it sound like I had modded the car with none standard extras.

Never had this on a MOT document.
 
Been mentioned before on this forum. Basically saying they are unable to inspect items obscured by those trays.
 
Was on the Zed's when I bought her as well. RAC man who was with me says it is on there, as there is a possibility that the MOT from next year will have to include taking off these trays, and as a result MOTs may become a lot more expensive.

Although, it would look better if they added “due to the design of this car” as well.
 
They'll have problems with the Lotus Elise then as the entire underneath of the car is covered - smooth as a baby's bum!

Great, another added "M" expense. :wink:
 
I used to get this with my vx220. It had an undertray that ran the entire length of the underside. It was too low to go on the rollers too so the braking tests had to be done in the car with a gizmo.
