Why so cheap ?

It's an 11 year old car that's very common (apart from the colour obviously) most 11 year old cars aren't worth half that much! I do find it funny how everyone on here bashes the seller of any coupe listed for over 9k, yet thinks their 10+ year old roadster is worth 6k  Low spec Z3s could be bought for just over a grand when they reached this kind of age, the same destiny is inevitable for the Z4 too...

There are 9 hours left currently. I'd expect it to increase towards £6k. Ebay is seemingly the best way to grasp true market value for any items. "its only worth what someone will pay for it".

It's a buy it now price, not an auction ;)

You do see many listed for sale for more than this, but how many of them actually sell is another matter. There will always be enthusiasts willing to pay more for a car they know has been looked after, but the truth is most people look for the cheapest car.

Awful color, aftermarket lights and wheels, It just screams used and abused, raced anything possible away from the lights.

Hence the reluctance of people to buy it.

In my opinion.

i dont think paying 350 pounds for a better set of lights means abused to be honest.

I did fit angel eyes on my old lights and i did it because i like the car and not to abuse it.

also those wheels cost and it is quite an upgrade from stock 17 103 wheels like i have and it is awful

Colour is a matter of taste but i saw another orange one here on the forum with black wheels and i think it works. Also maldives blue like i have works with black mirrors, black headlights and black wheels :)

Tunning and modding a car doesnt mean that the car is abused.

But i guess most of the people think like that so in conclusion no modding is worth it :) It will decrease the value i guess

BMWs always sell better if factory standard, that is a fact. That's why I never do any non-OEM mods. One thing a lot of people don't seem to grasp is that mods add zero value to a car, they often detract from it.

i see .. so i will just paint my 103 wheels black and the value will stay strong over the years :) with crappy 17" 103

well i was smart keeping the old headlights and just add AE to them :)

Third party exhausts, lights, wheels, seats etc can all improve the looks and performance of a car, but as the seller of this Z4 is finding out the hard way you will never recoup that money when selling. A 3k car with 10k of mods is not a 13k car, it's still a 3k car.

true .. but most of z4 sell around 5.5k .. at least the 3.0 engine... this guy wants 3.5k :) it is too low even for 100k miles

As others have said I imagine it's mostly the colour and mods putting people off rather than the price. The price is about right for a nice 2003 Z4 IMO.

Exactly. If that car was totally standard looking, and at that price, someone would have ripped his arm off a long time ago.

It's the connotation based on the fact its orange with non standard parts on it that mean it hasn't sold yet.

As said, oem sells far better than modified to the general market.

TBF looks in good nick! Will be nice for someone!

Regarding the colour Neil has done similar with his but the previous owner had the paint done professionally. I was very sceptical but in the flesh looks stunning! His is obv very different and a much better example

Lights are an obvious upgrade if you have the orange hockey stick style pre facelift ones, I wouldn't say it detracts from the value for a few its a pain to do so is an attractive option although won't add value same with the wheels. The problem with modding is its all personal and the original car is always more valuable than a modded car, which is why modding with OEM parts keeps the car attractive

If you do mod keep the original parts and swap them and selling them separately will give a larger target audience.
