Yup..

Not mine, but could easily be, was -2 when I drove home from the shop a couple of nights ago @ 11pm, roof down of course - If it's dry, it's down!

I've done it. People look at you as if you just killed their dog :lol:

I don't think they understand that cars come with these fantastic new gadgets called heaters. That, paired with heated seats mean you keep nice and warm whilst driving.

I had the top down this morning! Temperature on the dash said 3 degrees when I took it out the garage, 5 mins later was saying -1.5 degrees :lol: , but the sun was out and with the heaters and heated seats on was pleasant! Every other roadster I saw had their top up :( (including a 07 reg 2.5 E85 - A14 Kettering / A509 Wellingborough)
 
Does come with some issues though . Driving back from Camberly the other week , it was sunny , I had my flying jacket on ...Fuggit ..top down . All was well until I was at some lights sitting waiting my turn to went , on the left was a filter lane for left turning traffic . Past me went one of those extra high ticulated trucks .. disturbed the trees at the side of the road , coupled with wind direction and time of year .. suddenly it felt like I was sitting in a garden waste skip :lol:
 
I was told by a friend ...

"dont be one of them $%^& that dresses up like they are going on a winter expediotion and drives with the roof down".
Can't wait to give him a lift this winter. Hope he's got a warm hat.

I had a triumph spitfire in my early 20's, if it was dry the roof was down :)

Hardtop on and windows down is a good as it gets for me in the London City winter. The Z lives outdoors, what with the wet roads, leaves, ice, bird s**t, dirt and salt fired up from the traffic all round the soft-top would surely take a beating. Not that a good wash down wouldn't remedy that. A winters drive with the roof down is good for the constitution. I've heard Dr's prescribe such things to help with gout, rickets, berry berry, the flu and the likes :D
 
It is amazing how this top down driving can grip you, picked the E85 up from Norfolk back to Derbyshire a few weeks ago, it rained and rained, bored, bored trudging up the M1, the last 30 miles though it stopped so 11.30pm dropped the roof, turned off and went the long way back through the countryside, it was a totally different experience, makes you feel alive!

Heaters were optional extras on the early Spitfires. Luckily mine had one.
 
I spend all day in an office, so take any chance to get the roof down for some fresh air and sunshine! Even go topless at night :o
