Who's Counting? Fess up to Points!

So, what's the tally on how many point people have on their licences, and how many forum members have a spotlessly clean licence?

I have 3 points, from an average speed camera on the A1 from 2009, so just about another year and they will be off.

I wonder whether 3 points on a licence really affects insurance costs these days, or do they make an allowance?

My sister got up to 9, and drove like an idiot to avoid getting anymore, there was nothing normal about her driving behaviour. Being on the cusp of a ban, made her driving really bad.

I've just got 3 points coming back from the National Meet on Saturday.

Prior to that I had a clean licence for a year or so (first time in years).

Before that I've been up to 9 points twice

6 points at the moment but it should've been 9 but took the Speed Awareness Course for the last lot.
Never been done in the Zed but in the works van

I dont think 3 points will because I would say 70% of people have an offence of some kind simply because police are like sharks!

I no that 9 points does my mate who is 28 was looking at an E60 M5 and had just got 9 points then a ban for 6 months he has 10 ync and his insurance was going to be £1800 lives same area as me I have 2ync 3 points 24 and the same quote was £1500 same company.

He drives lorries for a living and is on the road a lot. They kind of feel like they are void of road regulations lol

i got 3 point after having the Z for 3 months! 68mph in a 40 zone! in my own defence, i was going up a duel carridgeway when an unmarked BMW came flying up behind me! so me thinking this guy was trying to be an idiot i put my foot down to get some distance between us! he then starts keeping up with me! so i thought he was trying to race me! turns out he was an unmarked copper!! very dirty tactics if you ask me!

I have a clean license. I was once caught doing 130 (kph ) and spent a short while without my license as a result. Since then I have never broken the speed limit

I had 3 points back in 2000 but that is it. I've been stopped for speeding (all with radar guns) 3 times since and each time have been let off by brown nosing and being extremely humble. Feels dirty but it's very effective.

Clean licence and always has been.

Although I was lucky a couple of months ago, I was behind a van which had a cage trailer with some portable traffic lights in it, we were both going too fast through a spot where there was a mobile speed camera van parked and I just had enough time to slow down before he zapped me. If the van with the big trailer on the back hadn't been there he would've had chance to re-set and got me.

It's been over 25 years since I've had a violation....

I've been stopped a few time and had a real close call in Texas back in 2007 but I managed to avoid being stopped in a speed trap that caught 3 other cars where all of us were driving along about 90 MPH. olice:

Living on borrowed time with the Zed, had too many close calls but still on zero points for about 20 years. Biggest issue is 90% of the time I'm Mr. sensible... then the red mist descends. If the rozzers ever catch me during he 10%, all I can say is..... gulp.

No points now... had 10 bike-related points (all related to my bike being borrowed by an uninsured, unlicensed mate :x ) when I was young and foolish, but clean since I transitioned to 4 wheels all those years ago. Been pulled over a couple of times, lectured, and let off - although its never happened in the zed
