White Smoke from Engine

I think I have the same problem. White puff of smoke that smells like burned oil. The rubber seal around the engine block (I presume that's the head gasket) seems wet with oil so I've been told it must have dried a bit and cracked and a tiny amount of oil slowly seeps, drops on a metal surface in the engine bay and then burns off causing the smelly white smoke.

Water, oil levels and temperatures are normal.

You got told $900 for a repair of this simple rubber seal???? Holy crap I think I might be better off selling it as it's a 2003 model.

Would appreciate any advice anyone has..
 
drzed, he didn't get a new head gasket for $900, he got a new oil sensor. A head gasket is not a simple rubber seal, and it takes a lot of work to replace one. Sounds more like you're looking at a valve cover gasket, which is a simple rubber seal, and easy to replace. Like DIY easy.
