White Nappa leather- seat belt marks

Since purchasing my lastest Z4 two months ago I have had the irritating black marks on the sides of both seats where the seatbelt catches. Despite the main dealer saying their supposed leather man had done the best he could and a detailer the marks still remained. This week I just happen to visit a leather trim shop to collect some Defender rear seats I had had retrimmed and asked the owner if he had any ideas on how to remove the marks. He said " Try Autoglym tar remover we use it on everything in here!"
Despite being in a little nervous about this he assured me it would work. So on my return home I tried it. I only used a little on a cotton cloth and then buffed the suede with a suede brush and left it to dry overnight. It's worked perfectly. Seat sides are like new. :D
Sorry no before and after pics. In my excitement to try it I forgot

That's a great tip, I'll have to write it down before I forget - thanks for sharing

I've said it before - black seats hide a multitude of sins...
Well done on the tip though, could be handy for plenty of members on the forum

That's what I thought but it worked for me :D I've since restored a 20 year old Jaguar ivory coloured seat using Colourlock products and noted they use white spirit! All I can say is the person who recommended it to me works with leather and restores car seats and has done for 20 years or so.
