Whistle / whine?

I've owned by Z4 for about a year and just took it to the BMW dealer last week for the first time. It was for an oil change, but while I was there they also flushed and replaced the coolant, brake fluid, diff. and transmission.

Since I've gotten it back, I've started to notice a strange whine/whistle noise that I've never heard before. It definitely seems to be RPM related - and I only hear it after depressing the clutch to shift as the engine revs down around 3k.

Does anyone have any ideas, or has anyone experienced something similar?

Its an 03 3.0i manual.

Ghost whistle. Check all the intake pipes for gaps. Common problem. No harm being done

As Adamski - several have had this problem. Use this site http://realoem.com/bmw/select.do and you can see the various pipes in the intake system that can crack and cause this noise.
