whirring noise from rear

I have a whirring or buzzing noise coming from the rear of my car. More prominent when I'm doing between 60 & 70.

trying not to sound like an idiot, but it's cyclical. Like a whirr, whirr, whirr rather than one constant noise.

Wheel bearing maybe?

Are the wheels rubbing on the plastic arch lining? It may be also worth checking how worn your tyres are. If unevenly worn, the noise can become quite loud on some tyres. Wheel bearing is another possible cause, but I've not heard of too many issues of this kind with the Z4.

Andrew.

quite common, I get this on leaving a set of lights , it would dissapear after a couple of hundred metres , was quite worried at first, then i realised it was purely one of the local lads in their saxo trying their luck!!! :driving:  :tumbleweed:

It's not rubbing. Tried that with a fat'un sat in the boot whilst rolling forward.

It's more prominent at high speeds, but still getting some low speed rumblings.

How hard is it to replace the diff fluid?

Wheels and tires went on 7 weeks ago, so hope they Arnt worn by now
