Whirring noise from dash?

Hi all,i have noticed these last couple of days a whirring noise from the dash when i open the door-only last for a couple of seconds then stops,i have had the car for just over a year now and have never heard this noise before,any thought please?(this happens before i put the key in)-thanks

Are you sure it's from the dash?

IIRC the fuel pump primes when you unlock the car, it could be this.

mine does the same go with srhutch on that one.but what is the one sounds like a flap closeing if you sit in it after use with all switched off?? :?

Just as a side note-when i noticed the noise the car had been left unlocked in my garage(but with the doors closed) for a few hours,then i just opened the door and heard the noise.

Andy you are spending an unhealthy amount of time worrying about your car, relax and go for a drive. If and when something breaks, worry then, worrying about the mights is pointless and futile.

Im not sure to be honest....i cant remember, i cant even check for you because im at work on shetland at the mo...

Both my ///M and my 320d do this, and always have. It's normal

Both my ///M and my 320d do this, and always have. It's normal

And that's from a medically trained professional, so you'll be fine Andy ! Though I'd have been tempted to add 'Take £60, fill up the car, drop the roof three times a day after meals and do more driving / less worrying' :lol:

Combine that with Sars' advice and you'll be sorted. I'm off out to get more milk because it's not raining
