Which Z4 to go for? Advice pls...

We're about to buy a Z4. There are 2 that I'm interested in and I'd be interested in your thoughts on them both and which one you'd choose:

1) 2.5si Sport. 56 plate. Silver with the MV2 alloys. From a BMW dealer so will have warranty etc, has comfort pack but it's pretty standard in spec with the piano black dash. - located fairly close to me! Don't reckon I will be able to get them down from £8800 price

2) 2.5i Sport, 07, black, 102 alloys. Private sale, has xenons but other than that is standard with the silver dash. - located about 70 miles from me. Priced at £8600 but I would have a target price of £8000-£8200.

Personally xenons are a must for me... Esp as the headlights are quite low down.

It all depends on how they have been kept. You don't say what their respective mileages are. If the dealer one looks like a good option (and I prefer MV2s over 102s) then make them a silly offer you never know. Black is a great colour when clean but when dirty or dusty doesn't do the vehicle justice - and certainly shows swirl marks up more than other colours - IMO. I would again prefer the dealer option in silver.

Couple of things with the dealer if you go for it. Ask if any failure in the roof mechanism and motor will be covered under their warranty. If they say YES - GET IT IN WRITING! A search on here will show several threads where dealers have failed to honour a warranty for a roof motor failure - unfortunately a regular occurrence with Zeds.

Just for info there is a pre purchase checklist link in my signature which may assist. Don't be afraid to go through it at a dealers - many things only take seconds to check but it will hopefully ensure you get a good one.

The xenons and the colour attract me to that one...

Thats a fab help, thank you! The mileages are 56000 and 50000 respectively. I'll definitely have a look at the checklist and ask them about the roof warranty
