Which top mounts??

Right, finally getting all the new suspension bits together for the coupe- suplex springs arrived and Blistein B4 on way, plus spring pads , bump stops etc.

Just a bit undecided with the top mounts- Meyle hd rears are easy to get but I understand many people have had issues with them, noises etc. Lamforder rears seem to be as rare as hens teeth (found one seller on bay but not well known(don't want fake parts).

What do folks think- take chance on Meyle hd or maybe even just try the main dealers? I,ve seen Sachs advertised from Germany, pricey, these might be what went on originally?

As for the fronts, I can see Meyle top mounts but they don't seem to be HD- or can get Lamforder from GSF (not rears).

What have people fitted in the last couple years, as you would be the best to know if the stuffs quality or not?!!

Go for lemforder,

ECP (Euro Car Parts) sell them they just probably don't list them online for your car.

They are the same as E46 top mounts though and readily available at loads of places for little cash.

Stay away from Meyle :)

I put Rogue Engineering top mounts on my Z4MC and ended up taking them off. They are a fantastic piece of kit but made too much noise for my daily drive.

Does that also apply to the rear Rogue mounts?

Does anyone know the part number for the BMW front top mount reinforcement plates, I can't find it on realoem.com?

Beedub will give some details on these - believe he fit them on his Z4m back in 2012-ish. The BMW Part #: 51 71 7 036 781 / 51717036781

Sorry, yes should have clarified. I know some people on the forum have the rogue rear mounts and don't have any issues. I tightened them and loosened them but could get them to shut up. I ended up leaving the Rogue reinforced top plate in and just put the new OEM mounts underneath.

If you look at the Rogue units you'll see what I mean, once the top plate is installed, all future work is carried out from under the car inside the wheel well.

Thanks both.

I'm about to switch out standard for B12 so it makes sense to do top mounts/reinforcing at the same time. The chap in America who posts video how to's had mushrooming on the front with standard suspension so there's a genuine need for those plates... I think I'll give the Rogue rear mounts a go and keep my fingers crossed!

I have rogues & B12 on the back of mine, with 19" rims - bit harsher than before, but no problems with a long haul journey, or a short trip around the twisties!
