Which oil for a BMW Z4 2.0l 2007

Hi Guys

Can anybody help me, I have just received a warning on the dash that my oil needs topping up (it appeared as a yellow warning sign after I stopped the engine). Can anyone tell me which oil is best for my car, a 2.0l 2007 Z4? And how much is good to add?

Hi !

Previously Castrol was the BMW partner. Since the last year, it's now Mobil1.
I recently done the oil level and was recommended (by a BMW center) to buy Mobil 1 ESP Formula 5W-30.
 
I don't know about "new" engine versions, so maybe you should ask a BMW center ? It could be different recommended oils but I don't think so.

And for the quantity, your user manual specifies it. However, in theory you should have two marks on the dipstick which indicate the recommended min and max oil level. When filling up you have to reach the upper mark on the dipstick and it would be okay.
