Hello all,

I'm in the market for a z4 . My budget is 10-13k .

Is there a particular year /model that stands out from the rest ?

Thanks in advance .

Welcome Op , great choice of motors with a healthy budget
As for the question ? You may as well ask how long is a piece of string
Some basics would help your quest

The best ones are between 2003 and 2016 and 2.0 to 3.4 either softtop or coupe you could also try the hard top convertible other than this don't buy one .
Please give us a clue on your needs and wants the range is larger than you may think,
A 2.0 looking good in e85 form steady away,
But e85 m mmmmmm a bit different
Your budget is good you have a great choice ahead of you.
Give the guys some clues and you will be pointed in the right direction.
Happy hunting

Find the lowest mileage E85 3.0si with the highest spec you can find (not that I'm biased in any way  )

If you're after some weekend fun, buy a 3.0si roadster.
If you're after comfort too, but an E89
If your bald and worried about burning your head, buy a coupe

Thank you all for your feedback.

I guess I'm looking for a weekend car with a bit of a power ....

I like the roadsters with the metal roof and the coupe's. Not too keen on the older z4's that have a canvas roof .

I saw one on auto trader with 43k on the clock (photo attached )

Stunning cars .

Space grey with coral trim  can't go wrong
Id say if you aren't stuck on either coupe or convertible the E89 is a great way into Z ownership that offers the best of both worlds

I'll second that, Mr Wilks is very wise

What sort of mileage would I be aiming for ? If my budget is 11-13k ?

If you are looking for a E89 with £11k / £13k to spend you have a good few options to consider , I won't bore you with them all but starting with a 23i I would be looking sub 30k with that budget for a Se spec with at least sport seats & decent shoes
Same budget in a 23i Msport would be around 40k & a 30i should be got for £11k/£13k with around 50k again on sport seats but maybe a Se

You'll get a nice low miles e89 for that budget. They are stunning looking cars and come with a lot of kit, usually.

There's a Z4 for all occasions really. Full s.h. New brakes, probably including front discs, and good tyres all things to look for.
