Hi Guys,
my roof to motor on my 2006 Z4 started to make weird noises and now only works intermittently. So I am getting ready for replacing the motor unit, following the protocols discussed here and shown on youtube. However, it looks like there is a huge price range for the replacement part. Amazon sells for 120$, URO is 450$ and OEM is 1000$. What is your experience with the quality of the replacement parts? I am temped to get the URO part.
Also, what is unclear to me how to decide whether to replace just the electric motor or the entire hydraulic unit as well. Looks like a lot of people just replace the electric motor and keep the hydraulic unit untouched, which I guess makes avoids opening the hydraulic lines and purging air afterwards. Any advice?
Thank you so much for your help
Markus
