Which headlight bulbs for Halogen lamps ?

Apologies for not reading through hundreds of posts but simple question / simple answer please
Ive fitted whiter led sidelights to the E85 & now the halogen dipped beam looks yellow by comparison
I know lots of you have changed bulbs for a brighter white look so which ones should i buy ?
Not interested in any HiD kits or Xenon upgrade malarkey :oops:
 
Osram Nightbreaker Plus, an improvement but not remarkable, they were recommended on the Forum.
Cost me £12.50 about 3 years ago, so a cheap option.
 
Thanks fellas , is it simply the bulbs as with any non halogen headlamp :? some i were looking at had a right angled fitting attached :?

big improvement on the standard candles - I can drive at night down country lanes now without having to resort to full beam!

+3, the standard lights were so poor this was the first thing I did to my zed & despite naysayers warning of a vastly reduced life they are still working over 2 years later-a definite improvement :thumbsup:

They do have a vastly reduced lifespan, already changed mine from last year but I do over 15,000 miles a year. Time is irrelevant, it's the time they've been on for and in the Winter it's nearly all the time for me when I'm commuting.

Has anyone tried LED H7 bulbs? I like the concept as they should last much longer, be bright but not illegal like HIDs.
 
They'll still be illegal; I've not found any LED bulbs, headlamp or otherwise, that are "E" certified.

Headlamps I have seen seem to need massive heat sinks and have inconsistent beam patterns. I've got some very nice LED reversing and indicator units (Philips).
 
So i'm happy so far with my bulb upgrade programme , interior & exterior look a whole lot better for the change to bright whites
Only ones left now are the front fogs which by comparison look yellow :cry:
Its a Si so letterbox fogs as opposed to round , any tips for which bulbs to buy for them :?

Given the Si foglight pre-disposition to leak, condensation resistant bulbs is the flippant reply :P

You might need to give it some thought though - if you intend to actually use them in fog, you might not want too white a light, as it will reflect off the water droplets in the fog and be useless. The French always used to fit yellow lenses to their cars in the 70's and 80's based on the theory that yellow light cuts through better than white. Don't know if that's the case or not, but I think nfbr stuck yellow bulbs in his when he refurbed the fogs?
