Also check this out, might be something worth considering with the 2 litre diesel

i thought you was thinking diesels was not an option these days

As you can prob tell, i really don't know, just sit at work looking on auto trader!

With travelling 80-100 miles a day i want something i won't be filling up all the time.

Diesel Auto, anyone know any pros/cons etc?
It might be a bit slow and boring  Would you not consider a 330d coupe?

Comes down to affordability really, want to try keeping a budget of 10k, and i would like mileage under 60k. Obviously going to struggle i know.

I know it's not a coupe or auto but how about something like this? I think they look great and it would feel more special than normal 2 litre diesel.

My old house mate had one, the turbo lag on it was terrible, and it had basically no options what so ever, completely put me off Alipinas. :(

I used to have a 123d which is the same engine as the Alpina D3 but a different tune and there was a wait as you put your foot down and the engine spooled up but I think it was more the mapping than turbo lag but I know what you mean.

I use auto's and the BMW is sublime. The 120d was great fun and felt very planted, rarely did I feel the need to use sport mode. The diesel picks up easily and cruises well. Overtaking was a joy, not quite as crisp as the 3.0 Z4 but for a DD it was pretty impressive. Unless you have very high standards and deep pockets, then you will not regret a 120d auto diesel as a DD.

My dad will be/is selling his 2009 330d coupe, M sport auto, Red Leather interior, sports seats etc. It's done approx 57k from memory and the only photo I have is the one below. Full BMWFSH, it has had one rear alloy replaced. It's his second car and has kept it because he couldn't let it go as its such a lot of car for small money. Anyway, he has seen a 640d and isn't allowed three cars, so this will be up for sale. Let me know if interested and I will get more pics/spec.

Great thread. I'm also in the mode for selling my Z4C :( New job means more miles. So I was considering a 1 Series of some sort, definitely diesel.

I'm not too bothered about speed, as long as it can chug along happily at 80mph and is comfortable, it's all good. I've been looking at some AUC on finance.

Just need to sell the Z4C now... :(

I would choose audi over the vw.
123d coupe is nice but i be worrying if i would have the dreaded chain problem be carefull as i think from 2007 upto 2010ish some diesels had major faults with the chain that cost ££££

What about a tt tdi i love the tt as a sports coupe :) thats what i be changing my z4 for.

I think i NEED another BMW, i just like the styling inside.

I feel like I can't get another 1 series as i already had the coupe, can't get the same car twice!
