Which breakdown cover

As my van is now out of manufacturer warranty and Ive just bought another E85 I want to take out breakdown cover again (used to be with the AA) The two biggies, AA and RAC are similarly priced and I have no real preference so who would you recommend and why?

I switch between AA and RAC each year, using topcashback. Means I get it a LOT cheaper - Just renewed with AA last week, as was with RAC last year, and if you have had a renewal notice from them in the last 90 days, you won't get the cashback.

I go for personal cover (any car I am a driver or passenger in) with at home, roadside, recovery, onward travel (hire car/hotel etc) which was £159, but the cashback on that is £75, paid within 4 weeks. £84 for the level of cover is a bargain..

Good Idea I can't do this as we use ours for Eurotunnel every year which makes it great value

Mike. That is exactly what i do too. Although i just go for vehicle cover and the cheapest one. Roadside cover.
Although this time i ended up staying with the rac as they offered me roadside and recovery for £35.

Pastry. You definitely want to get on topcashback. I've been using it for years and received £2k so far for buying things i would be buying anyway. Its free money.

We are with Britannia Rescue.

£125 Covers Mrs G and I for any car. Home start Roadside etc. Plus the Zed only, is covered for European travel.

My WIFE uses it on most purchases Paul, surprised you haven't heard of it. Does your WIFE not use it
We use GEM for our breakdown cover after we left AA some years ago.

We've used AA for a couple of decades, renewed recently and argued over the cost for the cars we've got. Gave us a substantial discount for long term loyalty... worth phoning up and seeing if you can play the main ones against each other to get a better deal?

Auto Aid seems the best value and seems to come well recommended but I’m using the BMW Insured Warranty breakdown cover as it’s not much more on top.

I've signed up with the RAC using topcashback. I got roadside, recovery and somestart for my wife and I for £149 less £75 cashback so only £74

Have used Rescue My Car in the past with no issues but Auto Aid are currently the cheapest. £44 me and wife any car, national home start overnight cover.

Used Green Flag for the past 5 years, never had any problem with them at all. 3 of those years were when I had an Alfa so got to know them quite well....
