Where to buy a SmartTop box? (UK)

Hi all,

Can someone recommend a good place to buy a SmartTop box from? eBay listed one from Germany that I think I'll be stuck with a load of import costs for.. :?
 
Try for a used one on here, worked for me and save a few quid too.

Or if you want new, this from the Mods4Cars website:

No import charges when importing from within EU AFAIK.

the whole point of the EU for most of us was free trade unfortunately it meant a lot of other things too that we didnt consider fully
 
Sorry I meant the one I was looking at was in the US on eBay and I'm looking for one from Germany or EU.

I'll have a look around on here. Surprised there aren't more around!

Found these on French EBay and a German site selling for 10 Euro more but the delivery costs are included apparently whereas the EBay one wants another 35 Euros for delivery...

I bought mine off Amazon UK but they no longer seem to be listed...
 
I'll try giving them a call after work and checking their prices.

I don't mind a used one (unless they have a shorter life span than I expect?). In fact "johnbirt" on here PM'ed me that he has had one for a while on sale..
 
I bought mine from PPCGB a couple of months back.
They have a branch not far from me so I drove down there.. but I know they do free delivery.
Guy there was very helpful and configured it all for me then and there.
 
Don't worry about the extra few quid - just get one, it not worth the wait!

Once fitted you'll realise it's just how the car should have been out of the factory.

These smarttop boxes are the E89's equivalent to the weighted gear knob saga of the E85/86 :rofl:

I found their website (a very good one - list your reg. # and it filters parts for your car). Its £290 though, which is the highest I've seen
 
I struggled to find it any cheaper than that to be honest, the US ones work out more once you add on the £17 Delivery and £80 Import charge.
2nd hand you may be lucky to pick one up on here for a good price or it depends if you get a bidding war on ebay.
I watched a couple on there around March time and one went for £240 and a second one (which was an battered looking older model module and said it had been 'in the back of a draw') went for £260!
It seems like they resell pretty well, so I decided for the sake of £30 to get brand new for the peace of mind and to have it in warranty.. I haven't had to use Mods4cars support but I've heard they're excellent!
 
As I said earlier - you will save a few quid second hand but its honestly just not worth the wait!

It transforms the car. :thumbsup:
