Where is my EE TV Box!! - Avoid EE

Hi all,

Has anyone joined or swapped their EE Broadband to include their TV package recently? I upgraded from their standard broadband to their Fibre Broadband Plus including EE TV some 7 weeks ago. The service became live 6 weeks ago and awaited my TV box. A month past so called them up and they said it takes upto 30 days to receive the box if upgrading an existing package. That was 2 weeks ago and still no box. I'm starting to think I'm not going to receive it. Apparently its worth £300 but is free with the package. I can see why its free now :x

Sounds absolutely redicuilous! So you upgrade, pay for a TV service and then have to wait at least a month to get the hardware to be able to watch it? Would you pay for your car insurance starting today although you don't have a car until say two months time? Eh no.

Sounds dodgy to me. Can I just ask are their call centres based in the UK? Oh and do you have Twitter? If so get on there and tweet them. They don't like bad tweets about service and it usually ends up with stuff being sorted ASAP.

Alternatively go to a store and speak with someone there re their process for upgrading.

Thanks Angie, no idea on their call centres although the guy I spoke to on the phone was irish lol. Apparently if you are a new EE customer you get the TV box within a few days of your service becoming live, however if you're an existing customer upgrading your package it can take upto a month to receive the box, however my wait is well past that now. Will call again and just say if I don't get it I'll stop payment lol.

These people are utter bollox :x

I called EE this morning at 10.30am to find out where my TV box was. Call went through to a foreign call centre which sounded Indian to me so there was a language problem and a poor line. It took me 10 mins to explain it was the TV box I'm awaiting delivery and not the router  I was then passed onto another person who kept me waiting another 8 mins or so who returned and then put me onto another person who deals with EE TV, I waited over 5 mins and was then cut off, so was on the phone for nearly 30 mins for nothing.

I called again this afternoon and again spoke to an Indian lady, again there was language problems exacerbated by a poor line, EVENTUALLY and English guy came on the line and checked my original order for Fibre upgrade made 6 weeks ago and turns out they gave me the wrong package which excluded EE TV :headbang: :headbang: hence why no TV box was forthcoming.

The customer service as well as their website is diabolical. All I can say is avoid.

Ever tried an M8 box of ebay about £ 60 gives you hundreds of channels

I haven't no, to be honest I'm not a big TV subscriber as I just don't see the point of hundreds of channels which I'll never watch, the EE TV appealed on the good reviews and playback TV etc and that its free with the package, supposidly.

Cheers Badger, its not so much stressful just annoying , I know mistakes happen but something should be done to stop companies in this country using foreign call centres especially for dealing with customer problems. The main issue I had today was trying to explain and them trying to understand which was difficult because of the language etc, its just plain ridiculous.
