Anyone seen these, prices look damn good -

I'll have to get my 17" refurbed at some point, scuffed by previous owner (honest!) and badly caked in brake dust.
As usual with these things I'm now wondering about getting some 18"s :D

You get what you pay for. Cheap replicas are frankly just that.

I'd get some OEM of a style you like.

True.

Current tyres are 225/55x17...what would I need on 18's to retain rolling radius?
S'pose I could look it up but I'm feeling lazy

On the wheels, £500 for a set of 18s including tyres is cheap, too cheap if you ask me, the quality will be garbage.

Hmmmmm :?

Now, if I upgraded to 18s should I go to 225/40fr 255/35rr, the standard dims
or
go to 225/40fr & rr, which would be an equal increase in size all round?

225/40 and 255/35 are the same size so it would still be an equal increase anyway if you know what I mean. But you need wider wheels on the rear, 8.5 or 9".

Ahh, didnt know 225/40 and 255/35 were the same diameter...umm, always thought that /35 was the "thickness" and a /35 in any width would be the same diameter :o
You learn summat new every day :)

Are wider rears needed just to make it visually correct or is there an offset issue?

Sorry for all the questions, this is new territory for me, appreciate the rapid answers

35 is a percentage of the tyre width, so 40% of 225 and 35% of 255 being almost identical.

I would say the wider rears are required for visual purposes more than anything else, I would personally try and buy some OEM wheels off here of Ebay (get them refurbed if necessary) and then you can be sure they are the correct offset and are of a good quality.
