Wheels - How flexible are BMW

Hi,

I've been looking at a possible E89 to purchase but it has 296 19" wheels. I absolutely love these wheels (a signtature of the E89), but don't want the hassle of cracked wheels in 3 month's time.

In my normal walk of life, dealing with contracts i'd normally negotiate an ammended contract to include such exceptions (that the other party would like to 'forget about').

What are my chances of getting this from a BMW dealer. (not much in my experience, but they are just a franchised car showroom, so there is no reason why not).

Welcome any thoughts. I'd ask for the wheels to be 'signed/initialled' in the bill of sale as separate warrantied items until the BMW warranty ends.

Anybody else tried anything similar?

Thanks

Chris.

Why do you think separately identifying the wheels gives you any more protection? They should be covered under the normal warranty anyway and any argument BMW may have under the standard warranty would be the same argument they would deploy if the wheels were separately identified!

I reckon a better bet would be to ask them to swap wheels from another car they have in stock, either at their place or group stock if they have more than one BMW dealership. I have done this before at VW.

They swapped mine but they don't like doing it. Mine had 18 s, the swapped with another car for 296's and charged me 1K

I asked a BMW about swappaing the wheels on a 1er I was interested in, but they wouldn't entertain it.
