Wheeler dealers new series tomorrow.

Been watching a few of these on Youtube as don't have Discovery. Other than Mike Brewer bringing pretty much nothing to the party I really enjoy watching this.

Yeah, like wheeler dealers, although for a car salesman he always lets the car go for less than he originally wants, and they don't include Ed's labour costs when working out profit, but apart from that its good.

Love this show hoping for more 80s classics as the high end stuff is fun but not as enjoyable..
I do like Wheeler Dealers, but lets be fair they loose money on every deal. If you factored in the workshop time and not just the parts, then I reckon it's a loss on most deals

I think you're totally missing the point. They are making a TV show which is then shown and repeated endlessly on TV and for years and almost certainly sold to overseas markets.
If they restored the cars then scrapped them they'd still make £000's from each and every episode for years.
That aside I love the show and have learnt a lot from what they do and do like to see cars restored

I think it's a great show and I also love to see the end result vs what they started with.
It's the same as so many of the TV shows such as 'Bargain Hunt' They spend all day buying 3 items then sell them for the same or less. Factor in time, auction commission, fuel and everything is a loss.
To do this yourself it just shows there is no money in it and it's done for the love of restoration.
Ther are exceptions when you see some of the US shows. These guys spend a week a turn cars into something creative and make $000's. Watched one last night where a guy took an old Ford pickup. Resprayed it, fixed the brakes and fitted an interior and made $5000

I watch it for a laugh every now and then but I cringe at what they do to some of the poor cars.
Ed China knows nothing more about the cars than what some researcher scripts for him and that Del boy character is the kind of guy that gives used car dealers a bad name.
A while a go they did a 205. Sold it to some woman on the show but she was actually a member of the crew. Nothing wrong with TV being fantasy, we all know it is. The car was later bought by someone on the 205 forum and turned out to be an absolute nail. It's worth watching the episode on Youtube to see Ed diagnose smoke pouring out the back of the car as being caused by a gear linkage problem
