Wheel & Tyre sizes ?

Hi been lurking around for a few years now but this is my first post ( not sure if im allowed to , but since im not a newbie ??)
Anyway recently purchased an 04 E85 3.0 and so far loving it, proper sports car.
One thing im not happy with is the RFT's ,a friend has a 2.2 which he is running on normal tyres and the difference in handling is like
night and day, so im ditching them ASAP.
Need some info before going ahead, the car is running 103 style 17" wheels.
1. Was this style standard fitment ?
2. Where the tyres the same size F & R ? currently running 225/45/17 are these the right size ?

You should be able to re-shoe your Zed for a lot less than the staggered fitment which is 225 40 18 fronts and 255 35 18 rear.
Your Zed tyre size sounds right and yes - Zeds did get delivered with 17 inch matched tyres.
Many owners prefer to go to 18 (or even 19 inch wheels) and you could fit staggered wheels.
Do a search and you'll find lots of information on different wheels and tyres.
Most of us get rid of the Runflat tyres and buy normal tyres for a better ride and reduced tram-lining (the tyres are also cheaper). Carry an inflation kit or buy some puncture repair spray and a cheap plug in air compressor and carry it in your boot just in case.
