Wheel / Tyre question

Intending to move up from the OEM 224 wheels on my Coupe (225 45 18 / 8" ET 42 Fronts & 255 40 18 / 9" ET 30 Rears) to some OEM 313 wheels 19 x 8 ET 37 Fronts & 19 x 9" ET 39 Rears.

Questions are:

1. Size of tyres to fit? I think that 225 40 19 Fronts & 255 35 19 Rears will give 0% error on the speedo but would another size be a better fit without being too far out on the speedo?

2. Will I need to fit spacers to the rears to compensate for the ET being 9mm more?

3. Best tyres and where to get them?

Any thoughts / views would be most welcome. :)

I'd assume the OE CSL spec sizes (235/35r19 and 265/30r19) would be perfect - and you can get the Pilot SuperSports (one of the best road tyres at the moment) in those sizes.

I've seen people fit 245/35r19 and 275/30r19, but I'd be worried about rubbing/catching.

I think that CSLs are 9.5" on the rears but 313s are only 9" which may make a difference to the choice?

Not really, as I always thought the CSLs needed more tyre to protect the rim, but didn't want to go to 275s.

265 on a 9" will give the rim a bit of protection.

Camskill have a good price for Goodyear F1s in 235/35/R19 and 265/30/R19 at about £611 for the set delivered. Decent tyres and a good price? Anyone advise on these?

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 - 265/30 R19 93Y XL (R1) FP TL and Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 - 235/35 R19 91Y XL FP TL, so I guess that these are the one's that you refer to?

try tyreleader.co.uk - a few posts on this forum regardinmg them - I used them with great success and a great price - about £100 lower than the price above

Thanks for the inputs which have been very useful.

All the bits now ordered and the wheels to be collected on Friday. :D

Rims - genuine BMW 313Ms - F 19/8.0 ET37; R 19/9.0 ET39
Tyres - Eagle F1 AS2s - F 235/35 R19 with 5mm Eibach spacers; R 265/30 R19 with 12mm Eibach spacers (tyres from tyreleader.co.uk, spacers from Germany)

With the spacers fitted it should result in each of the fronts being 15mm further out and easy of the rears being 8mm further out from OEM which, combined with the Eibach springs (20mm lower at front and 10mm lower at the back) and Bilstein shocks, should end up looking better as well as handling better.

At least, that's what I hope after spending all that moolah!!
