Wheel spacers

Hi guys just a bit of a pole really on who has them, who thinks they improve handling, what sizes and where's best to source them ?

Trying to establish if they will help stabilise my Z and improve its looks ?

Had 25mm spacers on the rear and they definitely improve the looks. Unsure on whether it affects performance though, but they were fine on mine. They bring the wheels out nicely.

I've got 10 mm on the back , mainly just to space the wheels out so they fill the wheel arches, but i think a wider track is better for handling

How much do you guys spend on spacers?

Got some CSL reps to drop on my Z4C, et38/45 & wondering if I will need to bump the rears out a bit.

Hi this my first post on here. Just ordered 20mm spacers off eBay they cost around 60 quid with extended studs and 2 locking studs. They are made by I motorsport. Should have them by week end so will post before and after pics. Had my e85 roadster about a year now and have loved every minute of it. Only just decided to start some subtle mods. Will update pics as I go

If you read up on most mechanical guides they don't recommend going wider than 15mm as it can weaken the hub. They also recommend using the hub centric type to further strengthen the contact point. Most of the 10mm and < are not hub centric.

I used 12.5mm both front and rear on my oem set up (108s) and looked better than stock. If I done it again 15mm rear and 10mm front would have looked better imo.

If you go too wide your get more off spray around the arches and on the body work from rain/road debris this is the downside to spacers, the oem setup is there for a reason.

Didn't notice any difference on handling however in theory the wider stance should help to reduce body roll when cornering.

15mm on the front and 20mm at the rear it makes the wheels feel the arches which visually make`s it look great,performance wise i dont notice any difference,its just a visual mod for me.
i got mine from machine monkey but not sure if he makes them anymore.

Just fitted my rear 20mm spacers. It has completely transformed the car. The rear end seems more sure footed. It's raining here tonight in London Town and couldn't get traction control light on at all. Trust me I tried!! Can't wait for the coil overs I've ordered to turn up next week

I have 15mm spacers that I use with the OEM style 224 wheels that I use as track wheels on my ///M. I use them to increase the track at the front to try to reduce understeer and, to some extent at least, they help. I used to use them on the rear too, but the rear tyres I'm using at the moment are wider than the OEM fitment, so the spacers would push the wheels beyind the bodywork. I don't use them with my CSL road wheels, but I'll probably have to do so when I fit my BBK.

Same as this except I didn't get mine from MM. Purely a cosmetic mod. When I finally get round to relieving srhutch of his 224s I won't use them as the offset will be sufficient on a non-M to look just peachy 8)
