Wheel spacer required?

Hi, all I now have a "new" set of wheels for the Z4, my queston of RFT v non runflats has ben answered, going for Non runflats. However a few of questions
1- Do I need wheel spacers. My existing wheels are 205/55/16, the new wheels are Front- 225/45/18 on an 8J rim, Rear 255/35/18 on a 9J rim.
2- Can I fit 225s allround (on the 8J & 9J rims)
3- I understand that the runflat ystem works from sensors in the valves. If that is so I assume you MUST instruct the fitter to leave them in, as I assume the can runflat system can still work on non runflats.

The car is a 2004, 2.2L

1 The offsets will determine whether or not you need spacers not the tyre size. If you have bought M wheels (just guessing) the offsets are 42 front and 30 rear so what are the offsets of your current wheels?
2 Yes but why do you want to when you could go with wider rears?
3 The pressure indicator will work on non runflats and works off the abs (the rotation of the wheel) you just reset it on the dash after the tyres are fitted. No sensors to worry about on your model.
 
As dave says :D And yes you can fit 225's but as Dave said why would you want to? It will be a stretch and will look odd if only two wheels have a stretch on them :thumbsup:
 
Thanks, for your replies. I will go for the bigger wheels.

However I have no idea about any off sets, the wheels I have bought are the same as the ones in the picture of Chris car. 9or look the same

Any Idea how I find out about the off sets.
 
If they are Z4M wheels, then they will be ET30 rear and ET42 front. And best tyre sizes are 225/40 and 255/35 :thumbsup:
 
Hi, checked with BMW today,they said thes wheels should fit directly without the need for spacers, as the wheels are an option you can have
