Wheel Drums & Calipers

Hi, i would like to get my wheel drums (i think that is what they are called) and my callipers cleaned up and maybe painted / protected (no bright colors)... is this advisable?

I am not sure who i would even try to contact to get this work done... do i call a mechanic, or a wheel specialist or a panel beater...

Any help on this would be appreciated... thanks...

Will check it out but i don't have the time at the moment (i'm sure it would take a full day) or tools / resources to do the work... i would prefer a professional to do it to be honest...

This is the link for doing the calipers

TBH the standard brake callipers and rear top hats-drums are shocking on many BMWs and spoil the look of the wheels. They are often covered in rust within a year of being sold.

You can easily tidy them up with silver brake paint or even smooth hammerite. Apply by brush sparingly and you can get good results.

Yes, but how long would i have to leave it each wheel before i can put the wheel back on, take it down of a jack, and then put it back up again and start on another wheel...

Just had ours done. Fortunately (!) I did not do the work... Garage friend of ours did it. He renovated the hubs and the calipers. All done in a few hours. However he told us not to drive the car until the following day to allow for everything to dry rock hard. Next w/end I hope to take some pics and promise to post them up. Note: hubs are in black. Calipers are in red! Car looks so much better.

Hi oo7mI. Below are the links to some quick pics I took. Sorry the resolution is not too good but should give you an idea what they look like:
