Hi guys what the best way to clean split alloys and keep them looking new.

I just use normal car wash soap and wash Mitt to do the bulk of the wheel and the inner part, and a paint brush to clean in the holes for the wheel nuts and the split rim bolts.
Once clean and dry apply a good coat of colanite hard wax, next time you wash them the dirt will just run off.

I got one of those big electric ones. Might put it up here as I havent used it since getting rid of my last car.

I wouldn't use a toothbrush to clean your wheels if they look nice and you want to keep them that way. The bristles on a toothbrush are nylon and way too aggressive to clean nice wheels with. They make special tools to clean wheels, I think I gotta have every one ever made...

What you need to do it right:

Boar's Hair Wheel Brush:

Daytona Speed Master Brush(es):

Wheel Woolie Boar's Hair Wheel Brush (or similar):

An iron targeting wheel cleaner like 1Z ColourTec:

Once clean, I would recommend applying a coating like OptiCoat or CarPro DLux to the wheels.. Then you can clean them with car wash soap in the future.

I use an old toothbrush plus bilbury wheel cleaner comes up,a treat

I normally use Sonax wheel cleaner, spray it on and agitate with some wheel woolie brushes then use a mitt and normal car shampoo to thorough clean the wheels. Use a bolt brush for the wheel nuts.

About to try the Bilberry wheel cleaner though, seems better value for money.

It's not an actual toothbrush, from Lakeland with heads designed for detailing cars (apparently).
