Wheel choices for the coop?

Hi lads

picking up my montego blue coupe tmrw (3.0si) it is currently fitted with 18" mv2s on runflats, when the tyres wear ill most likely get the conti tyre repair kit and some non rfts.

i will change the wheels aswell, not crazy on mv2s and had them on an e46 ages ago so they feel like old hat.

what are the choices? id prefer to stay oem if possible and happy to scour the bay, dont want to pay mahoosive money if i can avoid it :D

pics would be great, i really like the 5 spoke splits but i see they give a lot of corrosion issues, can this be remedied by a refurb?

thanks in advance

The 5 spokes (108's) do suffer from corrosion but can be refurbed no problem. Just had mine done and they look as good as new :D

thanks for the suggestion

just looking at the top pic on the forum the ellipsiloids (spelling sorry) look good too!

and if refurbed are they less likely to corrode in the future?

Corrosion in most cases will be caused by water getting in under the lacquer through kerb damage or stone chips. So unless you keep ontop of any damage, then no.

BTW, my wheels were 5 years old before I got them done. Even then they had hardly any corrosion as they'd been well looked after. The only reason I got them done was because it was free.

The 108's are nice wheels, they just aren't that well designed because of the corrosion problems. I had the 2 rears on mine replaced under warranty and the car was only around 7-8 months old! :o

I think the 108's look great on the Coupe if you want to stay oem. And can be refurbed no problem.
Here's a picture of mine for you to help with your decision:

On this side of the pond, with sport package you got 203s.

CSL's seem to really suit the Coupe (i'm a bit biased here)- the dished rear matches the rounded haunches of the car really well. If you are sticking to 18"s then the 135's look good. I prefer the ride of the 19"s compared to the 18" with RFT's.

but isnt that the issue with csl reps, they dont mirror the concavity of the originals?

are yours reps, i must say they look, ace, where did you get them?

thanks

i have to agree with others on here, it has to be CSL Reps (with the dished rear) as they really suit the coupe....that would be my choice anyway.
