Finally got around to doing something with my wheel centres which I have to say were looking well past their prime, I did consider some genuine BMW ones but I think they are around £40 for a full set.
A kind forum member (Terryvision) was donating a badgeless set of 4 centre caps a couple of months back & so I had those with a view of doing something with them at some point, painting up my calipers is when I really noticed how bad my original centre caps were.
The first thing I noticed is that the BMW centre caps came apart, so it's possible to remove the outer ring lip, this gave me the idea to give this a quick spray with silver paint, so in summary I removed the outer ring, gave them a quick rub down with some fine sandpaper, primer-ed them & then when dry (1/2 hr or so) I gave them a coating of silver paint, both primer & silver spray cans were from poundland which I'd bought a couple of weeks ago with other jobs in mind.
These 65mm stickers were from eBay (seller mksun1_974), some knock-off stickers don't always get the proportions or font right, let alone the colour, I paid £10.49 for a set of 4 delivered, cheaper stickers are available, some include a whole replacement centre cap too, but I liked the look of these as they are silicone, slightly domed & with a high gloss finish.
Having let the silver paint dry & cleaned the face of the caps with thinners so that the adhesive had the best chance of sticking, I then warmed the caps & stickers up with a hairdryer, again so the adhesive was nice & goo-ey, also so that the sticker formed nicely over the concave surface of the cap, clip the outer ring back in which is now a nice snug fit as these eBay stickers are a bit thicker than the originals (even more so in the middle which doesn't matter).
I'm really pleased with them as I think they look completely OEM, plus I saved a few quid over the OEM's & had the satisfaction of doing them myself.
