What's your motor costing per mile/year ?

Reading Taz's post on his PCP deal left me totting up my own costs of my Zc ,
Insurance,tax,service+repairs,fuel . Luckily no finance involved as this would rocket the costs per mile .
So i arrived at £1.10p for every mile or smile :) :roll: wondered what others are shelling out as i suspect there will be extremes both ways :wink:
additionally our tourer is slightly dearer at £1.30 but my daily drive van is under 50p a mile :cry: now my head is hurting :headbang:
 
Mine's exactly £1/mile, calculated from last October when I bought it. Here's the breakdown:

Fuel - 20.64%
Extras/mods - 12.25%
Tax - 9.32%
Tyres - 17.85%
Cleaning - 2.19%
Insurance - 32.75%
Parking - 5.00%

Unless I get carried away, this should dip well below £1/mile by the end of the year.

£1.22/mile if you add depreciation, although I bought it from a dealer and expect to sell privately, so the Year 1 hit is pretty high. :?
 
A quick calc suggests around £1.40 per mile but then I only do about a thousand miles per year. That only includes an allowance for wear and tear etc but the actual figure is I am sure a fair bit higher. Insurance is the biggest chunk although roof motor repair is looming.

Our Merc E Class comes out at about 45p per mile using similar calc. Still only 4000 miles in that, but better fuel economy with other costs similar. Roof doesn't come off though.
 
The cost of everything for me, tax, fuel, insurance, rubber, service and the cost of the car split over 4 years comes to about £6000 a year. I do about 8000 miles.
 
I don't even want to think about it.

To illustrate, I spend more money on shampoo for the car than I do for my head. :tumbleweed:

I have no idea what it's costing but I know I can only afford it because my Z4 is tax deductible because I'm self employed :)
 
This is a great thread because it shows that the more you drive it, the cheaper it gets. :D
 
For me: with Petrol,Insurance,Tax, Tyres, Cleaning, Mods, Parking, Servicing, MOT, and Depreciation all included, it a get a Cost/Mile of £0.61. Well worth it. :thumbsup:

Yeah i sussed that with my van figures , , just can't face the thought of fitting a roofrack to my Z & loading the back up with tools everyday :oops:
 
I refuse.

The wife's Yaris is less than 30 p per mile, does 20k miles a year. My Z may do 6k miles this year, will probably cost triple what the Yaris costs......
 
Using very rough figures

Insurance £900
Mot £50
Tax £300
Service £300
Tyres £400
Fuel £3300 (15k a year) - at approx 27 mpg

=5250 for 15k miles = approx 35p a mile

Even over 3 years with the car at 6k when bought included, it works out at approx 50p a mile!

I'm genuinely shocked at this!
 
My wife's Passat works out at £0.47 per mile, compared to #108 at £0.61. Our crapshack Saab is £0.30 per mile.

So, moral is, the older and crapper the car, the more economical it is (in our household, anyways). Personally, the £0.61 per mile seems a bargain compared to the £0.30for what is, frankly, just a functional need.
 
if I sold my car tomorrow for 12k, then my cost per mile over the cover year figure would be approximate £1.96 - ouch :rofl:
