Thanks for that, hate it when there is room for something and its not fitted like blanks on the dash.

A cup holder - even out of reach under the bonnet it would still be of more use than the oem ones!

Yes, it is not fitted to UK spec cars.

They do, Alpina's have it. Its a Secondary Air Injection Pump, reduces emissions on start up. Fitted on US spec cars (where emissions control is tighter), Alpina's and (IIRC) ///M's.

Yes, but the OP's car is a standard Z4, not an Alpina or an M

mine comes on every start and its extremely loud, id guess it pumps fresh 02 into the cats to get the emissions where they need to be quicker on start up.... even more annoying it appears to stay on longer then you remove the stock cats :x :x
