What's this small button by volume control?

Anyone have an idea of what this small button-looking thing is the the right of the follow control on the dash? It's difficult to see in the photo below. It's between the volume knob "2" and the 1st "favorites" button in the photo below.

i think it's a sensor rather than a button. maybe for the climate.
