What's the worst car ever made?

Stark

I'll start this off......I have three I can't stand

MGF - owners think they own a sports car

PT Cruiser - I can't explain why people would want to buy this

The last Ford Scorpio - which looked like a whale

I think that any car that does things differently is never the worst car ever made.

The worst car is in my book the car that doesnt add anything to what all other cars already have (so really anonymous uninspiring cars)
So although I think for example the pt cruiser is hideous, there are people who think otherwise and really love that car (hard to believe, but there is a large pt cruiser fanbase that is just as fanatic as the bmw Z fanbase)

I also think all car brands that have a specific priority on a certain design or feature in their cars are cool.
Whether it's sportiveness (for example bmw), comfort (citroen) or safety (volvo) or even economical/low emission.

All good contenders so far but this vehicle makes me sick to the stomach.

This piece of machinery was designed by a Brit, usually powered by a 2.7 Mercedes diesel engine and produces a staggering 165bhp.
It does less than 30mpg and takes a lengthy 14.2 seconds from 0.62 using it's 5 speed auto box.

Oddly cramped inside, hugely underwhelming and with only two air bags this hateful car must be one of the worst ever made.

And not just any Brit, but some design professor at the Royal College of Art....
What was that saying agian....?
Those who can...do
Those who can't.....

I know its now a cliche and there are enthusiast and owners clubs, but this British Leyland abomination was truly awful. I was about 10 when my dad bought his first and last 'new' car. He never bought 'new' again after his short Morris Marina ownership experience.

The Marina I had was awful but I've never experienced more comfortable seats in a car.
My thoughts on the worst car would include the Allegro . . . .

Interesting. Underneath (platform) it's an older (w211) merc E class (the first gen 300c I mean)

I don't know why, but that second link of the interior made me snort laugh. I think its the steering wheel

I took my driving test in one of these. Complete bag 'o sh*te. Ladies and gentlemen I give you the Morris Ital.

Funnily enough I have just watched a fifth gear episode with this car in it and they said the old model was a Merc underneath but not the new one.

Ha - that's the 'Quarktic' wheel Marlon. It looked very different and unique, even purposeful . . . . it was un-natural in use and awkward

It was a lot worse than that - it was total Sh!te. My vote goes to the Austin All aggro.

Trouble is I actually considered buying one. I think it was a 1.5 van den plas. Horrendous fuel consumption at 22mpg, slow and very odd looking. I remember thinking a square wheel could shorten to squeal!

Bought a mk1 escort 1300xl. Lovely and would be worth well over £10k now!

Up until my dads present car all of his previous cars were some sort of British Leyland/Austin/Rover types.
It was almost as if he felt he had to buy British cars.
Starting as far back as I remember were mini traveller, 2 x maxi's, a princess, an ambassador, a montego, rover 214, 2 x rover 45's and finally he has a 2005 honda civic that he says is the best car he has ever had.
