Pretty much as the title says. What is the longest you have had to leave your car for a repair? I will start the ball rolling with 7 weeks and 1 day and counting
My old TVR Cerbera was gone for 9 months! the engine was removed by one specialist then sent to the engine builder for a new crank & cylinder head & full rebuild after it blew up on me, then when the engine went back in it needed a new clutch & then it failed its mot...& then needed more work doing...TVR ownership can be a rollercoaster hence why now I am a big fan of Zee Germans.
Umm! well I used to own a FIAT Coupe. Possibly the most unreliable, I mean charismatic, car ever made. Took it in to the garage to get an odd knocking sound sorted, back in 2009. Last time I saw it the engine was in the boot.
I kind of gave up at that point and gave the mechanic the V5, rather than any more of my hard earned. (Does that count? )
Not my Z but I had one car that I parked up in the garage in 1991, needing a new exhaust. I next drove it in 2010. I still didn't get a new exhaust as they were not available so had to patch it until I could get one!
