Hi,

I'm considering selling my Z4, what do you think it's worth on a private sale:-

Always so difficult to say as they change rapidly at the moment. You obviously already have the Glasses, Parkers figures.

Purely based upon Hamish88 just posting his purchase of a well specced 6 month newer, black, dream red, on 108's etc. from a main dealer at £10.5 with half the mileage, then I'd have to be pointing to £9k area (assuming the same engine size)

Not a good time to be contemplating a sell, however of course any new purchase/trade up is likely to have suffered similar price movements, so it all nets out.

I'd sell the spare 108's for some spare cash, and with a years tax and mot and the warranty I think you'd get £10,000 ok for it assuming it is otherwise good condition, all keys present etc, all books, toolkit gear etc...

Summer around the corner seems to be making their prices strengthen anyway. I can't find many that are genuinely good value that actually look straight and have a decent history/condition.

In Oct, i bought mine with almost identical spec (With TV, Without Cruise Control) and on 28000 miles with 5 mths warranty for £11k mate. Im afraid CJ10Jeeper is pretty on the money mate.

Maybe worth waiting till the Spring... Then the weather will persuade you not to sell up (we wish!) :P

It's a crazy amount of car for the money, I'd have been cock-a-hoot to pick up a car like this for £9K

I just paid £10k for my 2003 3.0L

Elliposids, Factory Bluetooth Kit, Heated Memory Seats, Prof SAT NAV, Storage pack, Cupholders, Auto Lights/wipers.

It is an Auto though.

I just sold my VX220 which i had up at £10k, i ended up taking £7500 for it :( It was frustrating to say the least as i had emails from people saying if they had the cash to spare; they would buy it for closer to £10k

I figured whatever i lost on my previous car i made back on the Z4. Before i actually did my reaserch i didnt even consider a Z4 as i assumed i would be looking at at least £14k for even a base model. When i saw what you could buy for the money i snapped one up!

I still think it depends on condition. A nearly 70k mile model might be still very good, or the seats may be worn and lots of stone chips and small dinks etc.

I think these cars are now at a point where condition makes more difference than the bare figures... (although they are a good guide to start with of course :) )

I would of said 9-10k private as its one of the first Z4's. Private second hand sales are rock bottom right now. I was shocked at the second hand price of Z4's also, i was looking at a MX-5 and never thought a Z4 would be in my budget. I paid half the new price of mine and its not even 2 years old.

I wish i was looking for a Z4 right now. At the time I bought a fairly high miler (46k) as I thought i would hardly stick any miles on it but circumstances changed and I have racked up 62k now. It must be worth about 2p now! Well maybe 9k on a VERY good day.
Mine is the same spec as yours but without the heated seats, parking sensors and satnav.
