What Pads to get

So i've just bought new discs all round - ATE's on the front and BMW's rears.

Now what brake pads should i go for, i don't track the car but i guess suitable for fast road use.

Also, any recommendations on the best place to get these from?

I'm running ferrodo ds2500

Great pads, not cheap for sure but rip face off once bedded in:)
 
Euro car parts normally have offers on.

I've just bought a full set of pagid pads from the,. No difference in performance from oem, just the same.

DS2500 are overkill for road use.

Do you use them for the track / road or both - i want something with really good stopping power but dont want to overly wear the discs - these sound good as long as they're suited to the road

Hi buddy
They are dusty at first
But two touches of brake from cold and they grip instantly
High speed braking they love
Around town etc as I don't track my car, they can squeal a bit, so I speed up and stomp on them:)

Cures that haha
But don't seem to eat disc:)

Cheers Pal, perfect - these sound good. I want some good stopping power from high speed :D
 
In no way cheap though
So hunt around!
As my OEM ones used to fade after a few quick corners and my confidence at the same time

Just bed in properly :)
 
ive got a full set of Pagid brake pads that i bought and never fit. they are just sat in my house now if you want them im sure we can arrange someting
 
I was very happy with my Stoptech Street Performance Pads. Good power from cold, never had brake pad fade, great price.

They're good for dust reduction, but they're at the bottom end of the EBC range.

If you go for EBC, then I'd not recommend anything lower than Yellowstuff (i.e. yellow, blue or orange).

They're not as good as Pagid RS29 (RS14 are good too, but wear VERY quickly), but they're also 1/3rd of the price.

If anyone is tempted by Orangestuff, then they won't give their best for about 50 miles, and don't give you the best 'feel', but they do stop time after time - in my case they were still working very well after 3 consecutive laps of the 'ring. I'd not recommend them for a daily driver unless you drive like D4dawg :poke:

I used to teach on track so just enjoy high speeds but all without giving the car grief
 
I use ebc yellow stuff, feel very reassuring and haven't experienced brake fade (not track tested them) from various hard driving. They seem to last really well too. If I'm not tracking then I'd find it tough call to fork out on ds2500, although maybe that opinion would change if I actually tried them out! Brake cooling and fluid as just as important as pads btw
 
EBC redstuff I cannot fault in any way.Excel!ent from cold,nice bite,good in traffic,solid pedal with the good ridge hoses,and will pull all the speed off time after time.Brakes are cheap consumable items,but go for the good kit when you can.I'm sure most of the guys and girls on here would like oversized 4 or 6 pot calipers but we run Z4s not Lamborghinis.Red stuff from the EBC own site :)

I went for Red Stuff all round in the end; Looking at prices it was getting a bit silly spending £100's on Pads when i dont track the car and its just for fast road use.
